3.12 Community self-assistance

3.12.1 To provide assistance and improve footway treatment resilience, over the last 6 years Ayrshire Roads Alliance have engaged with local Community Groups. We currently have 126 winter resilience groups assisting with self-help footway gritting where we provide training, salt materials, footway spreading equipment and appropriate PPE allowing groups to undertake treatments within their local areas.

Requests for these resources should be made in writing to the Head of Service.

3.12.2 ARA were the proud winners of the Highways Award for Winter Resilience in October 2021.
