3.1 General

3.1.1 The pre and post salting routes of East and South Ayrshire are reviewed on an annual basis taking into account any alterations to the roads which are treated under the specifiedgritting criteria.

3.1.2 The main treatment options are as follows:

Precautionary pre salting

Post salting

Snow routes

3.1.3 Routes have been devised to ensure efficient coverage within reasonabletimescales.

3.1.4 Sets of Route Cards listing all precautionary salting routes are held electronically by the Head of Service, Ayrshire Roads Alliance.

3.1.5 Route descriptions for Priority 1 gritting route are available within Appendix 4 and Appendix 5 of this document.
