6.1 Plant, Vehicles and Equipment

6.1.1 The availability of vehicles and ancillary equipment is detailed in the Severe Weather Operations Plan.

6.1.2 The current fleet replacement program will ensure that Winter Service obligations can be met. Programmed repairs and servicing to the fleet will be carried out during the summer months. The remainder of the fleet will be inspected and serviced as per the Fleet Management Inspection and Servicing Schedule.

6.1.3 Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking equipment is installed in vehicles to provide accurate control of gritting and to establish accurate treatmentrecords.
